Poppy’s Qi Gong classes

Life involves navigating stressful environments, and the practice of Qi Gong offers a way of maintaining a steady calm within, whilst the outside environment can be anything but. We live in an increasingly pressurised, stressful and uncertain world with anxiety becoming a problem for all ages. Knowing how to deal with stress and anxiety is axiomatic, as the cumulative effect is detrimental both physically and mentally. Qi Gong immediately increases a sense of balance, calm and well being through simple movements.

“The benefits started becoming apparent immediately- I can focus better for longer, and get more done in my day. I recommend her highly” Catherine

Qi Gong is a form of gentle exercise originating from China many thousands of years ago. It is emerging in the West now, in the same way yoga was 30 years ago: it is beginning to surface into the mainstream as the benefits are widely recognised (promoted by Harvard Medical School and NHS). Known as the father of Tai Chi, Qi Gong is used as a moving meditation, a practice that involves synchronising ones breath and concentration with the movements. The effect is immediate; a state of calm emerges, a clarity and focus and a sense of connection to not only ones body but the surrounding environment.

It is totally inclusive as a form of exercise- anyone can do it whether they are flexible or naturally sporty or not.

No kit is required, you simply turn up to class and follow the instructions.

The movements themselves are simple and easy to follow.

In just a short session of 45 minutes, you come away feeling immediately more settled and peaceful as you get your ‘Qi’ flowing.
